Eliosix

Eliosix is the project of producer and songwriter Patrik Totero. His first contact with electronic music came in the mid-nineties, when as a kid he was given access to a music studio where he could spend his time after school. These were the early days of Cubase, running on a black-and-white monitor. From then on, whenever he had the chance, he would pick up a guitar or sit down at a piano, working out melodies by ear and following what felt right.

During his engineering studies, he built a small studio of his own, a counterweight to equations and deadlines. After he graduated, music took a long break, but as the years passed, he slowly realized how much he missed it. A few years ago, the timing was finally right, and he went back with a clear goal, to get good enough for respected labels to sign his music.

His influences go back to those early days with the house and progressive sounds of Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Deep Dish, Miguel Migs, Lisa Shaw and Gabriel & Dresden, and later the trance of System F, Rank 1, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond. Rock and metal have also shaped his music, especially in how he approaches composition and storytelling. He has always expressed himself best when given time to reflect, and music gives him that space. Rather than following trends, he makes music he connects with on a personal level.

He releases both solo work and collaborations with vocalists and other producers. Hathōr has been a regular home for his music, and it has also been picked up by House of Horus and Sommersville Records. Artists including Nora En Pure and Solarstone have supported his tracks on several occasions.

He has several new releases lined up for the coming months, both solo and collaborative, and more music in the works.

If it were up to him, the music scene would bring back extended intros and long, emotional melodic breakdowns and build-ups. He'd leave behind tracks made just for the drop, songs cut under two minutes, and the idea that a track has to hit from the first second to keep anyone listening. It's hard to connect with music that feels rushed. Some things really were better before.
